there is a point in time where you realise that things cannot go on like this any longer; they have bottomed out and then things will either plateau, or get better, if only marginally.
the problem with that is, like the laffer curve, you don't actually Know if you've reached that point yet, and there is little to no way of finding out until it's over. and then, what's the use of knowing, right? inductively generating conclusions about bottom-out features for use in future predictions? nah. that's constant conjunction, and it nearly never happens the same way twice in someone's lifetime anyway. there are too many variables and multiple realities. plus like all qualitative inquiry, we can only be truly reflexive with the benefit of hindsight. so how can we say we ever know? we know in retrospect that we might know something, but can only truly know if we knew in retrospect with hindsight.
this, my friends, is infinite regress.
COME ON NAT. YOU HAVE TO MOVE PAST THIS SOMETIME. NOW WOULD BE GOOD.
At the end of it all, I guess you really do need them. You kind of need them, don't you, friends? They ground you, and give you wings. Surround yourself with the right kind of people and they teach you sense, yet remind you to dream. They'll watch over you and help you watch yourself. They'll make sure you honour your commitments and leave the places that hurt you the most.
Real friends judge. Then they decide how best to break it to you, and love you all the same. They'll show you what you're like so you can decide to agree or disagree. The right friends keep you from the evils: Vanity, malice, cynicism. They teach you how to share and give you warmth you never thought you lacked. They forgive.
Imagine a room,
a sudden glow. Here is my hand, my heart,
my throat, my wrist. Here are the illuminated
cities at the center of me, and here is the center
of me, which is a lake, which is a well that we
can drink from, but i can't go through with it.
I just don't want to die anymore.
so here's the deal:

World Toilet Organization (WTO) is a global non-profit organization committed to improving toilet and sanitation conditions worldwide. WTO is also one of the few organizations to focus on toilets instead of water, which receives more attention and resources under the common subject of sanitation. Sanitation brings benefits of health and dignity to humanity especially to the slums, and rural areas. Promotion of ecological sanitation through recycling of excreta helps prevent environmental pollution into water ways. WTO envisions an alternative and radical approach to accelerate accomplishing the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) target to reduce by half the proportion of the 2.5 billion people without access to basic sanitation by 2015 through advocacy, sanitation projects and capacity-building. |
|
What the WTO Does Sanitation is a problem that people are often shy to discuss. But a reluctance to talk about sanitation is part of the reason why an estimated 2.5 billion people worldwide do not have access to sanitation. WTO’s mission is to improve toilets and sanitation globally. We aim to achieve this through:
The WTO is currently engaged in ongoing projects in Indonesia and China, where they work to provide better sanitation for those affected by the 2006 tsunami and those in rural areas without access to proper sanitation respectively. |
